Obituary of Irene M. Finn

Please share a memory of Irene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Irene “Hawk-Eye” Finn, victorious age of 92! Irene “Hawk-Eye” Finn (appropriately nicknamed by her loving nurse aid Peggy aka “Chopped Liver”) took her last breath Home as inspired as her first in this world. She used her Hawk-Eye superpowers to seek and seize the Mojo in everything. She adored and flirted with all men of all ages and all walks of life- priests, doctors, men in uniform at the top of the list. She also shared her Mojo with any child or animal in her radar, nature too. She loved to explore, taught many how to navigate and read maps- “all roads lead to somewhere”. Not a day went by that she did not show her fierce devotion to all that she loved including many that had passed on decades ago. She gave her heart to a WW2 Marine, John Matthew Gibson, who passed before they married. She was always sharing stories of her beloved parents, grandparents, family, friends, veterans...never forgotten, many beloved pets and her current pup Spryte. She was also devoted to the Catholic Church- spent her youth active in the Sodality of the Blessed Mother...helping the Sisters care for orphans, organizing dances, visiting nursing homes, helping the priests with church admin, walking the priest’s dog, donating to numerous charities...sharing her Spirit, her Mojo, her Love. One major chunk of her tremendous, unlimited heart left behind in this Mojo Legacy is her younger sister Ann Finn. They did everything together as independently as possible, shared their lives together. They both spent their careers working downtown Manhattan, Irene on Wall Street, Ann in Insurance. They grew up on Staten Island in the Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, devoted to the Augustinian order of priests. Graduated Curtis high and Drake Business School. Retired to Rossmoor in Monroe Township NJ where they’ve been parishioners of Nativity of Our Lord. They cared for their grandparents, their parents, cousin and each other at home. They also adopted many “Godchildren”- Elizabeth & Charles Imbro, Ann & Andy Lautner (Sodality Sister Mary Lautner), Joe & Jackie Helmer, Tracy Lloret, Joanne Feaster and many more still here and passed. We will all miss you dearly and we will carry on your Mojo, your Spirit, your Love. Thank you for sharing your Superpowers with the world! Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Monday May 7, 2018 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555.
