Obituary of Eugene Patrick Cahill

Eugene Patrick Cahill, 81, of Spotswood, died on Tuesday March 13, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Eugene was born and raised in Brooklyn and briefly lived in Staten Island before moving to Old Bridge and finally settling in Spotswood in 1999. He proudly served his country in the US Army. Eugene was employed as a machinist for AT&T, Nassau in Staten Island for over 30 years until his retirement in 1990. After retiring, he worked for Summer Hill Nursing Home in Old Bridge in the maintenance department. Eugene was an avid builder and an excellent mechanic but most of all he was a dedicated family man. Eugene was preceded in death by his grandson, Andrew Patrick Cahill (2016). He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Cahill of Spotswood, his son, Frederick Cahill and his wife Sharon of North Palm Beach, FL, two daughters: AnnMarie Garguilo of Delaware and Kelly Laudien and her husband Walter of Monroe Twp., one sister, Mary White of Hillsdale, four grandchildren: Crystal Krammer, Ronald Goodard, Santina Gene Garguilo and Jake Eugene Laudien and three great grandchildren: Cheyenne Busch, Aydan Castro and Teegan Castro. Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Thursday March 15, 2018 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home - 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 - 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 10:30am on Friday March 16, 2018 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 11:15am on Friday at St. James the Less RC Church - 36 Lincoln Ave., Jamesburg, NJ 08831 followed by interment in St. James the Less Parish Cemetery - Monroe Twp.
