Sorry, we just heard about this. Jeff was a wonderful guy. Smart, fun to work with, always keeping his sense of humor. A real pro.
We always looked forward to his annual trip up to Erie for our LP party in January. I know he had some hair raising rides, but never missed one until his illness.
He was one of the good ones.
Our deepest condolences from the LP family

Mrs. Hooley, Brian and Kelli, and Scott and Sherry,
Please accept my deepest condolences in your great loss. Jeff was a dear friend who I truly loved. His integrity and ability to take a problem apart, look at it from all angles, and find a solution were such a tremendous help to our church in his volunteering. It was a joy to work on the Memorial Garden with him. His capacity to share and spread his love is a tribute to your family. I pray that our Lord will bring you comfort and peace.

So terribly sorry for your loss. I didn't know Jeff, but he must have been a great man to have built such an ethical and honest company.

I am sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. He was a very good guy and one of the most knowledgeable people I ever met in the shipping business. A real hard worker. May he rest in peace. My condolences go out to Bryan and Scott and your families.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Hooley family. I am truly sorry for your loss. I am probably only one of many that loved and admired your dad on many levels. I am so honored to have had the pleasure of working with Jeff and having him for a friend. I owe him a lot of credit for my success in this industry. His and Johns work with Mike Kennedy was my introduction into the world of exports, I have so much admiration for their intelligence and the way they could work together. I believe Mark said it best, Jeff would strategize different projects until he got it the exact way he wanted it to make it work. Definitely one of the best in the business by far. I could listen to Jeff talk for hours, the stories he tells could definitely be made into a movie! Jeff encouraged me in my move to Jersey and the job with Izzi Trucking and Rigging, as well as when I came back and went to work with CPG, i'm not sure if he knew I came back to Kennedy but i'm sure he would have supported me in that as well. One thing about Jeff, he loved his chocolate! I'm really glad I had that bag for him in December at Bunny's service ♥ When I make chocolates now I guess Bryan and Sophia will get them ♥ There is only a handful of men that I truly truly admired in my life and Jeff was at the top of that, i'm deeply saddened and will keep you all in my prayers mostly Louise and Sophia (no offense to anyone because I love all of you) The Hooley family and ICE family are family to me and always will be! Bryan please know I am always here for you anytime...thats whats cuzzins are for, right? ☺

Dear Bryan, Kelli & Sophia, Scott & Sherry, Louise, Kathy, and all the family.
Jeff was a customer, a friend, then a boss and a mentor for me.
An undisputed legend in our industry, you could be exasperated by Jeff, yet love and respect him in equal measure. No one had Jeff's energy and sheer passion for the business. We would spend hours strategizing on a piece of business, only for him to start again next day from a new angle! He lived, ate and dreamed shipping.
After CP Ships was taken over and my future was uncertain, he was the first there to offer me a new challenge. It wasn't on a plate, it took great work and effort, but Jeff was unstinting with his time and support.
Like many, I owe him so much.
A great friend, a great man is lost. But, my word, what a pleasure and priviledge to have had him in our lives.
Our thoughts, prayers and love are with you right now.
Mark, Claire, Aimee & Alfie (England).

Mrs. Hooley, Bryan and Scott,
I am so sorry for Jeff's passing, he was truly a character within our business, and by far one of the hardest working men I ever came across. Loved a good challenge and was always determined to find a way to handle a piece of business. I can see him walking around in the office in his white sox right now, going to get a cup of coffee.
When I left Hapag Lloyd in 2008 and started my own business, he was one of the first persons to come to me and offer his assistance, and made my transition much easier. He taught me a great deal, even more than what I thought I already knew.
Jeff was a true gentleman and friend who is already missed.
My thoughts and prayers with you and your families.
