Obituary of Robert Hochhauser

Mr. Robert Hochhauser died on Sunday February 11, 2018 at his home in Monroe Twp. He was 73 years old. Mr. Hochhauser was born in Jersey City. He later lived in Ridgefield Park and has resided in Monroe Twp. since 1969. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War era. He then graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He became a CPA and owned and operated his own accounting practice in East Brunswick for 45 years before his retirement in 2013. He was an avid golfer and New York Jets fan. Robert is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Ellen ‘Bunny’ (Shavitz) Hochhauser of Monroe Twp., two daughters, Michelle Welsh and her husband Hugh of Cranford, and Allison Verdun and her husband Matthew of Monroe Twp., three grandchildren, Tyler Welsh, Caitlin Welsh, and Joanna Verdun, and many other extended family members. Visitation will be from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday February 13, 2018 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 - 732-521-0555. A funeral service will begin at 6:00pm during the visiting hours. Cremation is private.
