Joseph C. Riccardi, 88, of West Windsor died on Sunday December 31, 2017 at the Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton. Joseph was born and raised in the Randall Manor section of Staten Island. He came to New Jersey and settled in Bear Creek, West Windsor in 2003. He was a 1950 graduate of St. John University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. Joseph had a 36 year career in engineering, starting his career at Western Electric and retiring from AT&T in 1988. He went through the ranks including instruction at New York Coliseum and later traveled the country working in several different positions. He owned and operated his own trucking company, James Ricciardi & Sons in Staten Island. Joseph was a member of the Italian American Club, Bocce Club and Safety Committee of Bear Creek. He enjoyed skiing and especially boating and was a member of the Mozzarella Club and the Great Kills Boat Club. Above all else, Joseph was a true family man and loved spending time with them.
Joseph was predeceased by three siblings: Jack Ricciardi, Carmella Boyle and Charles Ricciardi.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gloria H. (Jansen) Riccardi of West Windsor, three children: Christine Riccardi and her husband Pedro Semidey of Allentown, Joseph Riccardi and his wife Ann Marie Porto-Riccardi of Staten Island and Susie Masone and her husband Rich of East Windsor, one brother, Vincent Ricciardi of Staten Island, two sisters in law: Gloria Ricciardi of Dayton and Elaine Ricciardi of Monroe Twp., one brother in law, Harold Boyle of Tinton Falls and six grandchildren: Thomas Verri, Joe Bro, Gianna Verri, Rachael Masone, Nicole Masone and Jackie Masone. Also surviving are many other extended family members.
Visitation will be 1-4pm & 7-9pm on Wednesday January 3, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home - 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 - 732-521-0555 - www.demarcofuneralhome.com. Funeral services will begin at 9am on Thursday January 4, 2017 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10am at St. David the King Catholic Church - 1 New Village Rd., Princeton Junction, NJ 08550 followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum - South Brunswick.
