Andrew H. Huston died on Wednesday November 15, 2017 at his home in Concordia, Monroe Twp. He was 90 years old. Mr. Huston was born in New York City and later lived in Sayreville, South River, and Ocean Pines, Maryland. He has resided in Concordia, Monroe Twp. since 2015. He proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps during WWII and received a purple heart for wounds suffered in combat. He was a Quality Control Specialist for Phelps Dodge Copper Co. in Elizabeth for 35 years before his retirement in 1989. He volunteered his time in Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, MD as well as various dog and cat kennels. He was a member of the Ocean City, Maryland Polish American Club and a lifetime member of the South River VFW Post 1451 where he previously served as Sr. Vice Commander. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Andrew was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Huston in 1957, two children, Maureen Gostkowski in 2007, and Richard Huston in 2014, five brothers, and seven sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Pahler) Huston of Concordia, Monroe Twp., three children, Suzanne Gregory and her husband Thomas of Spotswood, William Huston and his wife Peggy of Whiting, and Thomas Huston of Monroe Twp., 14 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Monday November 20, 2017 and from 9:00am to 10:00am on Tuesday November 21, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral service will begin at 10:00am on Tuesday morning at the funeral home followed by interment in Brigadier General William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
