Obituary of George Nicholas Diamond

George Nicholas Diamond, 78, of Monroe Township died on Sunday October 22, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. George was born and raised in Flushing, Queens and lived in New Jersey for most of his adult life. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. George was the owner of Les Cove Auto Body & Sales in Hillside for over 27 years and automotive was his passion. He also loved bowling and later in life he enjoyed ballroom dancing with his wife, Elena. George is survived by his loving wife and partner of 11 years, Elena Diamond of Monroe Twp., three daughters, Deanna Diamond of Woodbridge, Amanda Marciniak and her husband Michael of Hillsborough, and Jillian Diamond and her fiancée Brian Gelalia of Ramsey, one brother, James Diamond and his wife Hannelore of Long Island and four grandchildren: Michael Doll, Gage Boettinger, and Jenna and Jamie Marciniak. A memorial gathering will be held from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Friday October 27, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Township, NJ 08831. A funeral service will be at 7:15pm on Friday during the gathering hours. In lieu of flowers and for those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church - 524 Summit Ave., Jersey City, NJ 07306.
