Alfred Joseph Bethel - Monroe Township, NJ Alfred Joseph Bethel, 88, died on October 4, 2017 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. Alfred was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY; he resided in Valley Stream, Long Island and has been a resident of Monroe Township, NJ for the past twenty years. Alfred proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and later retired as Sr. Vice President of Marsh & McLennan Companies in 1983, after twenty five plus years of employment. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed reading and was a member of the Italian American Club and Senior Social Club, both of Greenbriar at Whittingham, Monroe Township. Alfred is survived by his two sons: Kevin Bethel and his wife Jan and Brian Bethel, his daughter, Mary Jane Dicola, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild and his significant other, Lucretia Miceli. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 1:30pm Saturday October 7, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 - 732-521-0555. A Catholic Blessing will be 1:30pm following the visitation. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Burial Park & Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers and for those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to the COPD Foundation. www.copdfoundation.org
