Obituary of Susanne A. Kane

Susanne A. (Helge) Kane ‘Bunny’ passed away on Friday September 22, 2017 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. She was 78 years old. Mrs. Kane was born and raised in Monroe Twp. She has resided in Spotswood for over 50 years and most recently lived in the Woodmere Senior Section of Spotswood. She was a homemaker. She was past president and a member for over 50 years of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Star Post 127 in Jamesburg and ran bus trips to Atlantic City for many years. She was also a member of VASA Order of America Lodge Lyckan in Edison, the Jamesburg Senior Citizens, and was the current president of the Spotswood Seniors Club. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City. Above all else, she was a devoted grandmother to her only grandson, John Russell Sikorski. She was predeceased by her husband Russell F. Kane in 1986, her brother, Irving P. Helge, and her brother-in-law, Joseph Longo. She is survived by two children, Russell F. Kane, II and his fiancée, Elizabeth Tierney of Colorado Springs, CO, and Kelly E. Kane and her fiancée, Steven Piccnich of Ridgefield Park, one sister, Catherine Longo of Monroe Twp., one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Helge of Monroe Twp., one grandson, John Russell Sikorski, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Monday September 25, 2017 and from 9:00am to 9:30am on Tuesday September 26, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 - 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 9:30am on Tuesday September 26, 2017 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10:00am at Holy Trinity RC Church, Helmetta. A private cremation will follow the Mass. For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
