Edward J. Heindel - Monroe Township, NJ
Edward J. Heindel, 72, passed away quietly at his home on the morning of Sunday September 3, 2017. Mr. Heindel was born in Jersey City, NJ and resided in Helmetta, NJ until 1979, when he made Monroe Township, NJ his permanent home. He was a graduate of Jamesburg High School and attended Rutgers College. Mr. Heindel was a carpenter with local 1006 Milltown and served as Tax Assessor for Jamesburg and Helmetta for over 30 years, until his retirement. A lifelong car enthusiast, Mr. Heindel enjoyed tinkering in his garage, fixing and maintaining not only his many vehicles over the years, but also anything that broke around the house, including a washing machine that he kept running for 40 years. A true Do-It-Yourselfer, he built the home he has lived in for the past 31 years.
Mr. Heindel is preceded in death by his brother Ronald Heindel (2009).
Mr. Heindel is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carol (Moore) Heindel, his daughter, Karen Cacella and her husband Barry, his son John Heindel, 4 grandchildren: Andrew and Vanessa Heindel and Nicholas and Samantha Cacella and his brother Robert Heindel. He will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be from 2-4 & 7-9pm on Wednesday September 6, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 9am on Thursday September 7, 2017 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am on Thursday at Holy Trinity Church - 100 Main Street - Helmetta, NJ 08828 followed by Interment in Holy Cross Burial Park.
