Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
George Robert Realmuto, 77, went to be with our Lord Sunday, August 27, 2017, at the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro following a sudden illness.
He leaves behind four daughters, his first, Christina Realmuto DeAngelo and her husband Albert, Renee Aleen Realmuto; Lisa Realmuto, and the youngest Jennifer Wielage and her husband, Derek. His son, Michael Robert Realmuto, predeceased him. George also leaves behind six grandchildren, Jacqueline Rothstein and her husband Mark, Daniel Napolitano, Christopher Napolitano, Gabriella DeAngelo, Brianna DeAngelo, and Miles Sinclair DeAngelo. George was blessed with and leaves behind three Great-Grandchildren, Michael Haggerty, Alice Haggerty, and Mark Rothstein; as well as many friends and extended family.
Born in Poughkeepsie, NY and raised in Brooklyn, George was the son of Frank and Christine Aspromonte Realmuto, both deceased. He attended and graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Brooklyn, NY. In his early years, George served our country in the Armed Forces of the United States from 1956 to 1959. When he finished his service, he started his family.
George’s thirst for knowledge was insatiable. He was a self-taught chess champion who played against the famous chess grandmaster Bobby Fischer. He also became a classical pianist and built a successful business teaching students and tuning pianos. George’s aspirations were endless. He later attended Rutgers University where he earned a BS in accounting. He furthered his studies in software design and became a Senior Program Analyst at AT&T. Later, George amazingly developed and coded a computer software program designed specifically for Continental Insurance Company which was then sold to other insurance companies and used nationally. His latest passion was the study of physics, biology, and medicine. His list of accomplishments are too many to list, but those who knew him were fascinated not only by his intelligence but his great sense of humor, quick wit, and his love for life.
