Obituary of Maria Guastella

Maria (Scibilla) Guastella died on Thursday July 27, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. She was 87 years old. Mrs. Guastella was born and raised in Sicily, Italy. She came to the US in 1960 and settled in Brooklyn. She later lived in Staten Island before moving to The Regency, Monroe Twp. in 2006. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was predeceased by her husband Pietro Guastella in 2005. She is survived by three children, Francesca Spatola and her husband Nick of Monroe Twp., NJ Jack Guastella and his wife Esther of Bogota, NJ, and Benny Guastella and his wife Brenda of New Milford, NJ, six grandchildren, Rosario Spatola, Peter Spatola and his wife Jessica, Christina Guastella, Peter Guastella and his wife Gerri, Kimberly Guastella, and Sarah Guastella, two sisters, Rosalie Maisano and her husband Salvatore of Islip Terrace, NY, and Joann Dara and her husband Eugene of Islip Terrace, NY, and many other extended family members. Visitation will be from 2-6pm on Sunday July 30, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 9:30am on Monday July 31, 2017 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00am on Monday at St. James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg, followed by Entombment in Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel, NJ.
