Obituary of John L. Humes

John L. Humes died on Sunday July 23, 2017 at Cranbury Center in Monroe Twp. He was 81 years old. Mr. Humes was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. He later resided in Berkeley Heights and has lived in Greenbriar @ Whittingham, Monroe Twp. since 1997. He was a chemist and worked for Merck & Co. in Rahway until his retirement in 1997. He was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. where he was a member of the church choir as well as holding his fourth degree with the Nativity of Our Lord Church K of C Council #14658. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Emma D. ‘Amy’ (Biederer) Humes of Greenbriar @ Whittingham, Monroe Twp., his brother, James Humes and his wife Beth of Tampa, FL, two step-children, Albert A. DeSantis and his wife Loraine of Long Beach, NY, and Maria Costello and her husband John of St. Louis, MO, five step-grandchildren, Albert, Robert, Diana, Heather, and John, and many other extended family members. Visitation will be from 6-9pm on Tuesday July 25, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 10:15am on Wednesday July 26, 2017 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 11:00am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp.
