Mary Anne (Gallagher) Hamer died on Monday June 12, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 69 years old. Mrs. Hamer was born in Brooklyn, NY. She lived in Staten Island before moving to Williamsport, PA and has resided in Monroe Twp. since 1993 and in the Concordia Community since 2008. She was a registered nurse and worked for Staten Island University Hospital for over 25 years before her retirement in January 2017. She was a member of the Rock and Rollers Club, and the ORT Club of Concordia and was also a member of the Disney Vacation Club. She was a parishioner of St. James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg. She loved cruising and traveling to Disney World, and enjoyed shopping.
She was pre-deceased by her first husband, James F. Dolan in 1994, her brother, Gerard Gallagher in 2011, and her granddaughter, Aaliaha in 1997.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Frank L. Hamer, Sr. of Concordia, Monroe Twp., five children, Jean Marie Dolan of Monroe Twp., Joanne Brennan and her husband John of Staten Island, Patricia Brady and her husband Christopher of Monroe Twp., Kathryn Jett and her husband Christopher of Monroe Twp., and James G. Dolan and his wife Brenda of Robbinsville, two brothers, Joseph Gallagher and his wife Carol of Hunter, NY, and Christopher Gallagher and his wife Joan of Voorhies, her sister-in-law, Dorothy Gallagher of Staten Island, five step-children, thirteen grandchildren, Taneshia, Kyra, Marissa, Emily, Victoria, Christopher, Brittney, Kelly, Meghan, Finn, John, James, and Nicholas, 10 step-grandchildren, two great grandchildren, Rylee, and Miles, and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 7-9pm on Wednesday June 14, 2017 and from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Thursday June 15, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc., 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 10:00am on Friday June 16, 2017 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10:30am at St. James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg followed by Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island.
