Gregory A. Winter, 62, died on Thursday June 8, 2017 at his residence with his loving family by his side after a two year battle with pancreatic cancer. Gregory was born in Independence, Missouri and has been a resident of Monroe Township, NJ for the past 26 years. Gregory was a career military man, serving in the United States Army. He continued his career as Chief of Military Schools working for the Department of Defense at Ft. Dix in Wrightstown, NJ until his medical retirement in 2008. Gregory was dedicated to his country and family. He was a jack-of-all-trades, avid fisherman, enjoyed restoring his International Scout, riding and caring for his horses and farm, and most importantly, spending time with his caring wife and family, and especially his grandchildren.
Gregory is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Laurie (Kozinsky) Winter; sons: Daniel Chitren (Amanda), Clint Winter, and Jake Winter; four daughters: Shanna Cowan, Monica Keller (Kody), Elizabeth "Betsy" Oliver (Shane), and Jackie Winter; five brothers: Steve, Jeffery, Paul, Joel, and John; three sisters: Deborah, Katherine, and Elizabeth; eleven grandchildren: Brady, Hailey and Rylee Chitren; Daeja Cowan; Kormic, Charli, Noah, Ashlyn, and Lizzie Keller; and Dylan Gregory and Hunter Oliver; his father, Donald Winter; and his beloved dog Delilah.
Memorial Gathering will be 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Monday June 12, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc., which will include a brief memorial service at 7:30 p.m. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Tuesday June 13, 2017 at Nativity of Lord RC Church – 185 Applegarth Road – Monroe Twp., NJ 08831.
