Robert N. Adamo, 85, passed into eternal life on Thursday June 1, 2017 at Parker at Monroe in Monroe Twp., NJ. Robert was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He moved to Old Bridge 30 years ago and finally settled in Monroe Twp. three years ago. He was a bus operator for the NYC Transit Authority for 20 years until his retirement in 1985. During his employment he served as Depot Chairman of the local TWU. Robert was an avid NY Rangers fan and season ticket holder. He was a referee and coach of roller hockey, ice hockey, softball and racquetball. Robert loved the beach and fishing with his grandchildren and he could always be seen at various soccer and hockey games cheering them on as well! He will be fondly remembered as "Mayor of North Beach" for over twenty years spent at the Surfrider Beach Club in Sea Bright, where he brought smiles and laughter to all he met.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Frances (Armada) Adamo of Monroe Twp., his son, Glenn Adamo and his wife, Valerie of Manalapan and two grandchildren: Greggory Adamo and his wife, Lesley of New York City and Marissa Adamo and her fiancé, Howard Barbieri of Asbury Park.
Visitation will be 4-8pm on Friday June 2, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. A committal service will be 10am on Saturday June 3, 2017 at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum – 900 Holmdel Rd., Holmdel, NJ 07733.
