Obituary of Freda Colleen Mainwaring

Freda Colleen (Moore) Mainwaring died on Sunday May 28, 2017 at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. Mrs. Mainwaring was born in 1929 in Candler, NC. She lived in the Bonhamtown section of Edison for 30 years before moving to Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. She married her late husband, John, at just 16 years of age in Newport News, VA. Together, they shared 65 years of marriage before his death in 2012. Colleen was active in the Girl Scouts of America for many years as leader and neighborhood chairwoman. She retired from Revlon after 30 years of service. Her two biggest joys were her family and traveling by air, sea, or car. She was predeceased by her husband John, mother, Hazel Moore Weber and her brothers, Arthur, Jr., Frank, Allen, and Charles. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Mainwaring Eichler and her husband Henry of Monroe Twp., her son, John Mainwaring and his wife Valerie of Red Bank, and five grandchildren, Susan and Michael Huston of Edison, Karen and Eric Davies of San Francisco, CA, Jason and Mandy of Denver, CO, Kelly and Craig Blumengold of Denver, CO, and Brian and Nicole of Coatesville, PA. The joys of her life were her nine great grandchildren, Anastasia, Elizabeth, Victoria, Ryan, Caleb, Karleigh, Kaileigh, Brielle, and Charlie. Also surviving are her sister, Nancy Gillespie of Pensacola, FL and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Thursday June 1, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Friday June 2, 2017 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, 185 Applegarth Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 followed by Entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
