Obituary of Dolores Casarella

Dolores (D'Angelo) Casarella, 81, died on Monday May 22, 2017 at Parker at Monroe in Monroe Twp. Dolores was born and raised in Brooklyn and moved to Newark where she met and married her husband Vito at the age of 17. As a military wife, she lived in many different locations in the US and throughout the world, ultimately settling in Eatontown. Dolores volunteered her time with the VA, working with wounded veterans and upon returning to the US, with Meals on Wheels of Monmouth County. For 17 years she owned Antiques Plus in Asbury Park. Dolores loved gardening, cooking and caring for her cats. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Vito Ernest Casarella (2010). She is survived by her son, James Casarella and his wife, Deborah of Monroe Twp., her daughter, Dolores Casarella and her husband, Joel Christie of Dania, FL, her brother, John D'Angelo of Bloomfield, her sister, Vera 'Cookie' Collins and her husband, Al of Florida and two beloved granddaughters: Samantha and Elizabeth Casarella. Visitation will be 5-8pm on Thursday May 25, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. Cremation is private.
