Obituary of Thomas J. Mauro

Thomas J. Mauro – Millstone Township, NJ Thomas J. Mauro, 95, has passed on Wednesday May 10, 2017 at the Centra State Hospital. Thomas, affectionately known as "Tommy the Tailor" was born, raised and resided in Brooklyn, NY. He has been residing in Millstone Township, NJ for the past 23 years. Thomas was the owner and operator of R&J Cleaners for 40 years until his retirement in 1995. He proudly served his country in The United States Army during World War II. Thomas enjoyed gardening and cooking and was a devoted father and grandfather and beloved uncle. Thomas is preceded in death by his 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Ivy (Churchill) Mauro, his daughter, Jayne Mauro-Sigona and her husband Frank and his granddaughters: Ashley and Briana Sigona all of Millstone Township, NJ. Also surviving are many extended family members such as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3-7pm on Saturday May 13 , 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Monday May 15, 2017 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. followed by interment in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery – 350 Province Line Road – Wrightstown, NJ.
