Joseph Nicholas Castronuovo, 81, of Monroe Township passed away on Monday April 3, 2017 at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold. Joseph was born and raised in Brooklyn and lived most of his adult life on Staten Island before retiring to Monroe Township in 2010. Joseph was employed for 30 years as a truck driver for Dean and Black Trucking. He was the owner of a NYC Medallion Cab for a short time and a salesman for Poseidon Pools in Brooklyn. Joseph was a car enthusiast and loved engaging in conversation with family and friends, affectionately known throughout the neighborhood as "Mr. Joe". He was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church in Monroe Twp.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 59 and a half years, Marilyn (Bird) Castronuovo of Monroe Township, his son, Kenneth Castronuovo and his husband Neil Stevenson of New York City, his daughter, Karen Bellochi and her husband Nicholas of Monroe Township, his brother, John Castronuovo and his wife Fran of Staten Island, his sister, Dorothy White of West Palm Beach, FL and his grandsons, Nicholas and his girlfriend Jaclyn and his other grandson, Alexander and his girlfriend Nicole. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-10 pm on Friday April 7, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Saturday April 8, 2017 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am on Saturday at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church – 185 Applegarth Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 followed by interment in Holy Cross Burial Park – South Brunswick.
