Robert D. Berberich – 89 – Monroe Twp. Robert D. Berberich, 89, died peacefully on Saturday April 1, 2017 with his family by his side. Robert was born in Ossining, New York and resided in Clifton Park, New York before moving to Monroe Twp., New Jersey two years ago. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Robert was employed as a guidance counselor for the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District for 40 years until his retirement in 1989. He loved golf and was especially proud of his 2 holes in one. Robert was also a New York Yankees fan, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church. Robert was predeceased by his father and mother, William V. Berberich and Lillian G. Berberich and his brother, William G. Berberich. He is survived by his wife Rita O. Berberich of Monroe Twp., New Jersey, son William Berberich and his wife Stephanie of Alexandria, Virginia and their children: Kristen and Laura of Springfield, Virginia, Sean of Reading, Pennsylvania and Stephen of Alexandria, Virginia, daughter Ann Marcott and her husband Keith of Sheridan, Wyoming and their children: Peter of Portland, Oregon and Rebecca of Soldotna, Alaska, daughter Margaret Berberich of Bloomfield, New York and her children: Brian of Bloomfield, New York and Megan of Hernando, Mississippi, daughter Ellen Smyth and her husband Graham of Poughkeepsie, New York and their children: Andrew of Beacon, New York and Jean of Fort Polk, Louisiana, daughter Jean Koelsch and her husband Tom and their children: Ian, Madeline, Kevin and Mary Elizabeth, all of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, daughter Carol Pungello and her husband Mike of Princeton Junction, New Jersey and their children: Robert of Princeton Junction, New Jersey, Allison of Princeton, New Jersey and Daniel of Princeton Junction, New Jersey and daughter Susan Hamilton and her husband Charlie of Clinton, New York. Visitation will be Wednesday April 5, 2017 from 8-9am at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555 – www.demarcofuneralhome.com. A funeral liturgy will be Wednesday April 5, 2017 at 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church – 185 Applegarth Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 followed by interment in Washington Crossing National Cemetery – Newtown, PA.
