Donald A. Clemmenson died on Sunday March 26, 2017 at Kindred Hospital Philadelphia. He was 82 years old. Mr. Clemmenson was born and raised in Union City. He later resided in Old Bridge and has lived in Monroe Twp. since 1969. He proudly served in the US Army. He was an insurance broker, working for several different companies and handled the insurance accounts of many NYC playhouses. He retired from the Township on Monroe in 2011 where he worked in Maintenance. He enjoyed all varieties of music, loved history, and took pride in repairs of a broad range of household and lifestyle items.
He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine F. (Schumann) Clemmenson in 2002, three siblings, and his companion, Ethel Whalen.
He is survived by two sons, Matthew Clemmenson of Monroe Twp., and Jeffrey Clemmenson and his wife Karen of Mullica Hill, four grandchildren, Nicholas, Olivia, Kerry, and Duke, two step-grandchildren, Cathryn, and Kevin, and many other extended family members.
A memorial gathering will be 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturday April 8, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A memorial service will take place at the conclusion of the gathering hours at 3:00pm at the funeral home.
