Catherine Schmitt, 96, died on Friday March 3, 2017 at her residence in Monroe Twp. Catherine was born in Union City and resided in Jersey City and Old Bridge before moving to Monroe Twp. 33 years ago. She was a graduate of St. Michael's High School, Class of 1938. Catherine was employed as an Office Manager for Ford Motor Company in Newark for 25 years before her retirement in 1978. Catherine was a loving aunt, sister and friend to many and always took care of everyone.
Catherine was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her sister, Agnes Steinel of Manchester. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
