Mary Nufrio, 90, died on Friday February 24, 2017 at The Gardens at Monroe. Mary was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 9, 1926 where she was schooled and later attended Drakes Business School in New York City. She moved to Elizabeth, New Jersey, worked for the A & P Tea Company in Newark. She moved to Clearbrook Adult Community in November 1974. The address then was Cranbury as there was no Post Office in Monroe. She leaves her beloved son Frank, a sister, niece and nephew in California and her brother in Arizona, his daughter Patricia, who she adored, and her animals Mimi the Poodle and Golda the Cat. She managed her family commercial property for 40 years located in East Brunswick. She was an avid reader of books and magazines and loved to work at puzzles daily. She leaves many good friends and family members. She was a member of her Church, Lighthouse Christian Fellowship in East Brunswick. Loved the Lord and had many family Church friends. She was active in several community clubs, such as Secretary for over 20 years of the Bowling League, excelled in golf where the late Red Gaeta was the first golf pro at that time, who taught her to play golf. She was a member of the Italian American Club, Protestant Fellowship, was a Section Director for 12 years. She was in the first stage production called Clearbrook Theater Guild in 1975. She was a Red Hatter who organized the luncheons every month for the group. She was one of the originals to organize the SHOC group. Al Porty was the one who named it Single Homeowners of Clearbrook, SHOC, way back in 1976. She also dabbled in oil painting for years, then took stone sculpturing. She donated a lot to charities, mostly for animals and children. She enjoyed her life in Clearbrook and always kept busy.
Visitation will be from 2-5pm on Monday February 27, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ, 08831 – (732) 521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 5pm on Monday at the conclusion of the visitation hours. Cremation is private.

Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38015.
