Obituary of Gabriel Adam Forbes

Gabriel Adam Forbes passed away on Monday January 30, 2017 at the Nemours Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. He was 11 years old. Gabe fought for nine months after a arteriovenous malformation (AVM), but his precious body could not keep up with the healing process that his brain had made. He was born in New Brunswick and previously lived in South Brunswick. He has resided in Edison since 2009. He attended Lindeneau Elementary School in Edison. Gabe was a lover of all sports including soccer, golf, basketball, track, and tennis. He also loved race cars, video games, dubstep music, drawing sharks, reading, and playing the trumpet.
Gabe was an AVM warrior and together, with their families, Melissa and Adam would like to express their sincere appreciation to everyone who supported 'Team Gabe' throughout his battle.
He was predeceased by his uncle, Brian Forbes in 2014.
He is survived by his parents, Melissa Lynch-Serrano and her husband Seth Serrano of Edison, and Adam J. Forbes and his wife Heidi (Diestlberger) Forbes of Burlington, his sister, Fiona Serrano of Edison, his maternal grandparents, Caryn (Lynch) Rati and her husband Ralph Rati of Pembroke Pines, FL, his paternal grandparents, Jeffery and Linda (Levane) Forbes of Dayton, his maternal great grandfather, Jack Vaughan of Montvale, three aunts, Danielle LaCasse of Pleasant Valley, NY, Bethany LaCasse of Highland Park, and Brianna LaCasse of Tamarac, FL, one uncle, Darren Forbes of Dayton, three cousins, Cameron Johnson, Adalia LaCasse, and Clementine Scott, and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 5-9pm on Thursday February 2, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555 – www.demarcofuneralhome.com. A funeral liturgy will be 10:30am on Friday February 3, 2017 at St. Cecilia's RC Church, Monmouth Junction followed by disposition in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
In honor of our beloved super hero, Gabe, everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite super hero shirt or Team Gabe shirt during the visitation on Thursday at the funeral home.
