Frank J. Marchitelli, 87, of Monroe Twp. died on Thursday January 12, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Frank was born and raised in Brooklyn and has resided in Concordia, Monroe Twp. since 2002. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a sanitation worker for the City of New York for 15 years before his retirement in 1984. Frank was a member of the Italian American Club in Brooklyn and the Sons of Italy in South River. He was a parishioner of St. James the Less RC Church in Jamesburg. Frank was an avid reader and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and gardening.
Frank was preceded in death by two sisters: Camille Vita and Virginia Schiavone and his grandson, Frank Sadler.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Michaelina (Morrone) Marchitelli, four daughters: Lorraine Sadler of Sarasota, FL, Annette Owen and her husband David of Andover, MA, Julie Perrotta and her husband Vito of East Brunswick and Lisa Marchitelli of Berkeley Heights, one sister, Jeanne Locrotondo and her husband Carl of Venice, FL and eight grandchildren: Christina, Daine, Garrett, Abigail, William, Dominique, Dean and Maximo.
Visitation will be from 1-5pm on Sunday January 15, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555 – www.demarcofuneralhome.com. Funeral services will begin at 9:45 on Monday January 16, 2017 from the funeral home. A liturgy of the word will be 10:30am on Monday at St. James the Less RC Church – 36 Lincoln Ave., Jamesburg, NJ 08831.
