Obituary of Harry R. 'Bob' Geipel

Harry R. 'Bob' Geipel, 89, of Monmouth Junction died on Sunday January 1, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Bob was born in New Brunswick, was raised in Spotswood and has resided in Monmouth Junction since 1966. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Harry was a machinist for P.J. Schweitzer in Spotswood and later Carter-Wallace in Cranbury. He was also a part-time police officer for the Spotswood Police Department. Harry was a boxer and enjoyed building race cars. Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy E. (Sadowski) Geipel (1995), his son, Kenneth Geipel (1981), and his brother, Richard Geipel (2009). He is survived by his daughter, Eileen Boyce of Dayton, his son, Robert Geipel and his wife Debra of Manassas, VA, his brother Raymond Geipel and his wife Joan of Milltown, his sister-in-law, Irene Geipel of Old Bridge, four grandchildren: Leeann Sanders and her husband Josh, Kenneth Geipel and his wife Carey, David Geipel, and Kimberly Geipel, and three great grandchildren: Emmalee, Jacob, and Bentley. Also surviving are many other extended family members and his beloved goat, Peanut. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Thursday January 5, 2017 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 088313, 732-521-0555. A funeral service will begin at the conclusion of the visitation at 12:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
