Ruth D. (Masterson) Hand died on Tuesday November 22, 2016 at Park Place Center in Monmouth Junction. She was 82 years old. Mrs. Hand was born and raised in Jersey City. She moved to Monmouth Junction in 1969 and later lived in Crystal River, FL for 16 years before moving to Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. in 2014. She was a bookkeeper for Halsey Chevrolet in Jersey City, before working in the same capacity for her son's business, Somerset Glass Co. in North Brunswick. She retired in 1998. She was a member of the West Citrus Elks Lodge #2693 in Homosassa, FL. She was pre-deceased by her husband, William F. Hand in 1998, two brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by two children, William Hand and his wife Debra of Monmouth Junction, and Kathleen Hand of Flemington, one grandson, Michael Hand, and many other extended family members. Visitation will be 1-3pm on Friday November 25, 2016 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555 – www.demarcofuneralhome.com. A funeral service will begin at the conclusion of the visiting hours at 3pm at the funeral home. Cremation is private. For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to The Arc of Hunterdon County, www.archunterdon.org.
