Edward T. Gregory died on Friday October 14, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 84 years old. Mr. Gregory was born, raised, and has resided his entire life in South River. He was employed as a shipping operator for DuPont in Parlin for 35 years before his retirement in 1991. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a 3rd Degree Knight with the South River K of C, Council #3001 and a member of the American Legion Post 214, South River. Eddie worked for many years as a funeral director's assistant at M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. and was an invaluable employee. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Gregory (2010). He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Blanche M. (Scupp) Gregory, three sons: Brian Gregory of Old Bridge, Timothy Gregory of South River and Thomas Gregory and his wife Suzanne of Spotswood, one daughter, Eileen Gregory of East Brunswick, one sister, Noreen Marsh of Albany, NY and six grandchildren: Jessica, Marissa, Kyle, Patrick, Ryan and Gillian. Visitation will be 4-7pm on Sunday October 16, 2016 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 9:15am on Monday October 17, 2016 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10am at Corpus Christi RC Church – 100 James St., South River, NJ 08882 followed by interment in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery – Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers and for those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital – www.stjude.org.
