Obituary of Dorothy Vergano

Dorothy (Capra) Vergano died on Wednesday September 7, 2016 at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 98 years old. Mrs. Vergano was born in Philadelphia, PA. She was raised in Fubine, Italy before returning to Philadelphia. She lived in New York City, Staten Island, and Astoria, Queens before moving to Teaneck in 1951. She has resided in Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. since 1994. She was a bookkeeper for several companies including Brotherton Construction in Hackensack where she worked for 20 years. She retired in 1994. She was a member of the Italian American Club of Rossmoor and was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Christopher Vergano in 1990. She is survived by two sons, John C. Vergano and his wife Maureen of Rossmoor, Monroe Twp., and Peter Vergano and his wife Kathy of Gainesville, VA, six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday September 9, 2016 from 5-7pm at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, www.demarcofuneralhome.com. Funeral services will begin at 8:15am on Saturday September 10, 2016 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 9:00am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church 185 Applegarth Rd.
