Obituary of Vincent N. Squitieri

Vincent N. Squitieri died on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 87 years old. Mr. Squitieri was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and lived there until moving to Monroe Twp. in 1992. He has resided at The Regency in Monroe Twp. since 2005. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was co-owner and operator of Plaza Delicatessen on Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn for many years. He was a member of the Italian American Club, the Men's Club, and the Hiking Club all of The Regency. He was a die-hard New York Mets fan, but most of all he enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ann (Sorace) Squitieri of The Regency, Monroe Twp., three daughters, Connie Xerri and her husband Joseph of Freehold, Loretta Lupo and her husband Dennis of East Brunswick, and Elena Spinelli and her husband Paul of Monroe Twp., one sister, Marion Oliva of Abingdon, MD, six grandchildren, Anthony J., Joanna T., Christina A., Stephanie M., Alexandra T., and Nicholas J., and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 11:30am at St. James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, S. Brunswick.
