Joseph Francis Heyer , 86, passed away on Sunday at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Jersey City and formerly of Spotswood, he was a resident of Rossmoor Village in Monroe Township. He retired after 45 years as a pressman for the New York Times. He was a Parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Parish, a member on the Immaculate Knights of Columbus – Spotswood Council #4907, Raritan Valley Soccer Club, Youth Committee of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Boys Scouts of America – Troop 35, St. Joseph High School Fathers Club and the Spotswood Zoning Board where he served for 12 years. Son of the late Joseph Heyer and Mildred (Smith) Heyer, he's survived by his loving wife Jeanne (Murray) Heyer; his sons, Kevin Heyer and wife Nora of Manasquan, NJ, Bruce Heyer and wife Susan of Manahawkin, NJ, James Heyer and wife Gloria of Dayton, NJ, and Joseph Heyer and wife Kim of Spotswood, NJ; his daughters, Sharon Heyer of Tinton Falls, NJ, and Mary Ellen Larson and husband Larry of Wernersville, PA.; his grandchildren, Susan, Erin, Krista, Alysen, Alex, Joanna, Nicole, Michael, Jack, and Megan; his great-grandchildren, Carly, Mary, Max, Amelia, and Oliver; his brother, Robert Heyer and wife Jean Marie of Kansas, City; his sister, Patricia Gallagher of Spring Lake Heights, NJ. He's also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 10:15 AM in Immaculate Conception Parish, 23 Manalapan Road, Spotswood, NJ 08884. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ. Visitation will be Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831. Memorial contributions can be made to the Immaculate Conception Parish – Building Fund, 23 Manalapan Road, Spotswood, NJ 08884.
