Obituary of John Joseph Hennessy

John Joseph Hennessy, 89, died on Thursday June 30, 2016 in Millstone with his loving family by his side. John, the son of Michael Joseph Hennessy and Justine (Anderson) Hennessy, was born in Brooklyn, New York and resided in Marco Island, FL. John received his undergraduate degree in Biology from NYU and his MBA from Cornell University. He was employed by Pfizer, Hearst Publishing and McGraw Hill Publishing before founding his own publishing company, Med Publishing, in 1978. John's best known published work was Practical Cardiology. John proudly served his country in the Navy during WW II. He was a member of the Jaycees; the founder and First Exalted Ruler of the East Brunswick Elks Lodge # 2370 and a founding member of St. Bartholomew Church in East Brunswick. He was also very active in NJ politics.
John was preceded in death by his brother James Hennessy, of Farmingdale, Long Island.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Vincent Ann (Lamenza) Hennessy of Marco Island, FL, three sons: John Joseph Hennessy II and his wife Mary Ann of Monroe Twp., Michael J. Hennessy and his wife Patrice and Jeff J. Hennessy and his wife Jill, all of Millstone, two daughters: Joelyn Melzl and her husband Mark and Jackie Fishbein and her husband Alex, all of Old Bridge, one sister, Chris Mullahey of South Carolina, 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Private. A funeral liturgy for family & friends will be at 2pm on Wednesday at Immaculate Conception RC Church – Spotswood followed by interment in Holy Cross Burial Park – South Brunswick.
