Mary (Lawrence) Alston died on Monday June 20, 2016 at Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse in Philadelphia. She was 86 years old. Ms. Alston was born in Trenton. She was raised in Jamesburg and resided there most of her life until moving to Voorhees in 2008. She was a records manager for Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick for 10 years before her retirement in 1991. She was a long-time member of St. John's Baptist Church in Jamesburg. She is survived by three children, Margaret Denton and her husband Galen of Philadelphia, Mark Alston and his wife Nancy of Monroe Twp., and Morris Alston and his wife Flavia, two sisters, Shirley and Helen Lawrence, five grandchildren, two step-granddaughters, one step-great granddaughter, and many other extended family members. Visitation will be 4-7pm on Thursday June 23, 2016 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555 – www.demarcofuneralhome.com. A funeral service will begin at the conclusion of the visiting hours at 7pm at the funeral home. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers and for those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
