Edward P. Gehling, 72, of Monroe Twp. died on Friday March 18, 2016 at RWJ University Hospital in New Brunswick. Edward was born and raised in Brooklyn. He has resided in Monroe Twp. since 1969. Edward was an assistant store manager with Big Apple Supermarkets in Brooklyn. He then worked for over 30 years for Stella D'Oro Biscuits as a route salesman. Edward enjoyed making Christmas light displays on his house and had previously won an award for one of his displays. He was also an avid stamp collector.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife Carole (Perpignan) Gehling (1985) and his sister Dorothy Niedzwiecki (2009).
He is survived by his son Edward R. Gehling and his wife Risa of Englishtown, two daughters: Christine Holmes and her husband Edward of Jamesburg and Donna Daldos and her husband Robert of Monroe Twp., one brother James Gehling and his wife Carol of South River, nine grandchildren: Mary Catherine Jenoricki, Elizabeth Holmes, James Holmes, Teddy Holmes, Patrick Holmes, Carole Holmes, Tara Daldos, Danielle Daldos and Grace Holmes, three great grandchildren: Hailey, Colin and Madison and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be 2-4pm & 7-9pm on Monday March 21, 2016 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 12:45pm on Tuesday March 22, 2016 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 1:30pm on Tuesday at St. James the Less RC Church – Jamesburg followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum – South Brunswick.

In 2005 a young man named Robert Walker, Jr. lost his life in a tragic accident. Robert was an organ donor and Edward was a recipient of one of Robert's organs which extended his life. Words can't begin to express the gratitude that we have in our hearts for Robert and his family.
