Maria Corazon S. (Saraspi) Tan died on Sunday February 14, 2016 at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold. Maria was born and raised in Manila, Philippines and came to the United States in 1994. She resided in Hoboken, Jersey City, Saddle Brook, East Brunswick and finally settled in Monroe Twp. where she lived for 13 years. She graduated from Santa Isabel College in Manila, Philippines where she majored in Management. She worked for Database America and was also a computer specialist at the New York City Dept. of Homeless Services in the HR Dept. for 8 years. Maria loved fashion and art and enjoyed cooking and home decorating.
Maria was preceded in death by two brothers.
She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Cesar Tan, one brother, William Saraspi of the Philippines, six sisters: Belinda Saraspi of Jersey City, Jocelyn S. Apura, Irma Cruz and her husband Jimmy, Miriam S. Aquino and her husband Romeo all of the Philippines, Edna S. Lora of Seattle, WA and Nenita S. Oliva and her husband Roland of Vancouver, Canada and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 7-9pm on Thursday February 18, 2016 and 7-9pm on Friday February 19, 2016 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 9:30am on Saturday February 20, 2016 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10:15am on Saturday at Immaculate Conception RC Church – 23 Manalapan Rd., Spotswood, NJ 08884 followed by committal and cremation at Holy Cross Burial Park Crematory – 840 Cranbury/South River Rd., South Brunswick, NJ 08810.
