Joan Elaine Walsh – Rossmoor, Monroe Township, NJ
Joan Elaine Walsh, 92, died on Sunday December 27, 2015 at the Wingate at Dutchess Skilled Nursing Center in Fishkill, NY. Elaine, as she was known to her family and friends, was born in the Bronx, NY, she was raised and resided in Beechhurst, Queens, NY for most of her life until moving to Rossmoor, Monroe Township, NJ in 1982.
Elaine was an executive secretary for Exxon Company USA in New York City for 29 years before her retirement in 1982. She was a member of the Emerald Society of Rossmoor and a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. James the Less Roman Catholic Church in Jamesburg, NJ.
Elaine is preceded in death by her husband, Howard V. Walsh (2004) and her brother William Whelan (2011).
Elaine is survived by her brother: Robert Whelan and his wife Mary of East Chester, NY, one sister, Evelyn Whelan of Fishkill, NY and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:30 am on Wednesday December 30, 2015 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd. A funeral liturgy will be 11:00am at St. James the Less RC Church – 36 Lincoln Ave – Jamesburg, NJ followed by Interment in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
