Catherine (DiBlasi) DeCastro-Pavona, 84, of Monroe Twp. died on Monday December 21, 2015 at Madison MC & Nursing Home in Matawan. Catherine was born in Gallitzin, PA and lived in Newark and East Brunswick before moving to Rossmoor in Monroe Twp. She has resided in Clearbrook, Monroe Twp. since 2013. While living in East Brunswick, she volunteered her time at Camp Daisy at Bicentennial Park in East Brunswick. She always took pride in helping children in need and later in life she was a special education teacher for the North Brunswick Board of Education. Catherine was a member of the Red Hat Club of Rossmoor and was a parishioner of St. James the Less RC Church in Jamesburg. Catherine is survived by her husband of 3 years, James V. Pavona, Sr., two sons: Thomas DeCastro and his wife Debrah of East Brunswick and Mark DeCastro and his wife Kathleen of Tigard, OR, one step-son, James V. Pavona, Jr. and his wife Denise of Middletown, DE, one daughter, Amy DeCastro of East Windsor, one step-daughter, Sandy Dechert and her husband Thomas of Jackson, two sisters: Amy Mazzagatti and her husband Sal of Vero Beach, FL, and Angie Alfano of Monroe Twp., four grandchildren: Vincent, Gina, Anthony and Nick DeCastro, five step-grandchildren: Stephanie, Christine, Jamie Lee, Danielle and Gracie Pavona and two great grandchildren: Emilie and Logan. Visitation will be 9-11am on Tuesday December 29, 2015 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 11:30am following the visitation at St. James the Less RC Church – Jamesburg. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum – South Brunswick. For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to Autism Speaks – www.autismspeaks.org.
