Obituary of Guy Patrick deLhery

Guy Patrick deLhery, 90, entered into eternal rest on November 22, 2015 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. An only child of French immigrants, he was born in 1925 in New York City. He attended St. Patrick's Cathedral Grammar School where he was an altar boy. He attended Cardinal Hayes High School and upon graduation joined the US Navy, fighting in WWII. He graduated Iona College. In 1961 he moved with his family of five children to Old Bridge. He was a founding member of St. Ambrose RC Church where he was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 129 for many years. He was an avid photographer, bridge player, reader, and classical music lover. He was employed for 30 years with the US Government as a physicist. In 2001, he moved to Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. where he became actively involved as a golfer, mutual head, and newspaper contributor.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Rosemarie (Hogan) deLhery in 2014.
He is survived by his loving children, Vincent deLhery and his wife Joann of Cliffside Park, Michael deLhery of Monroe Twp., Joan Cyhan and her husband George of Newark, DE, Anne 'Nancy' Certo and her husband Robert of Monroe Twp., and Monica Galianese and her husband, James of Colts Neck. He leaves behind his adoring grandchildren, Christopher deLhery and his wife Gina, Thomas and Michael Cyhan, Robert and Justine Certo, and Angelica and Alana Galianese, and three treasured great grandchildren, Finlea deLhery, and Vincent and Dolcie Certo, and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Tuesday November 24, 2015 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ, 08831 – (732) 521-0555 – www.demarcofuneralhome.com. Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Wednesday November 25, 2015 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. followed by Interment in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
