Obituary of Robert R. Rapp

Robert R. Rapp – Spotswood, NJ Robert R. Rapp, 67, died on October 24, 2015 at the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, NJ. Robert was born in Kearny, NJ and resided in Colonia, NJ before making Spotswood, NJ his home. Robert was employed by the Home News Tribune as a typesetter; he then became self-employed working side by side with his father at Rapp Typographers. He was then later employed by Lithoid as a graphic designer and also by Greater Media Newspapers as a proof reader. Eventually, Robert went back to school and received his Bachelor's Degree and went on to teach mostly in the New Brunswick Public Schools and Puerto Rican Action Board Preschool where his students adored the way he brought the classroom alive through his musical performances. Robert was an enthusiastic marathon runner, road cyclist, race walker and even took part in yoga and Zumba; he also started a chapter of the Natural Living, Running and Walking Club in New Jersey. Robert had a passion for playing guitar and was a very gifted musician; most recently he enjoyed playing with the Edison Garage Band. He was a member of the Church of Christ – Princeton, NJ. Robert is preceded in death by his parents: William P. Rapp and Ethel (Walz) Rapp and a sister Lorelei Rapp. Robert is survived by his wife Kathleen Golden of East Windsor, NJ, two sons: Ryan Rapp and his wife Maria of East Brunswick, Craig Rapp and his wife Jessica of Winter Springs, FL, two daughters: Amanda Smith and her husband Ed of Chuluota, FL, Brianna Rapp of East Windsor, NJ, a step daughter, Jessica Golden-Harper of East Windsor and seven grandchildren: Zachary, Aspasia, Petros, Lillian, Christopher, Eddie, and Madelyn. Funeral services will be at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home – 205 Rhode Hall Road – Monroe Twp., NJ on Thursday October 29, 2015 at 11am. Interment will follow in Riegelsville Union Cemetery in Riegelsville, PA. Visitation will be Wednesday October 28, 2015 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
