Emilio Mecchi, 73, died on Monday September 28, 2015 at the University Medical Center of Princeton @ Plainsboro. Emilio was born in Manhattan and lived in Queens, Matawan and Smithville before moving to Monroe Twp. 9 years ago. He received his degree in Applied Electronics from Queensborough Community College. He was a Supervisor for the NY Transit Authority for 23 years until his retirement in 1993. Emilio was a past Grand Master of Masonic Lodge #192 in Matawan, a Eucharistic Minister at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Holmdel, a member of the Italian American Club and Editor/Consultant of the Grapevine at Renaissance @ Cranbury Crossing and a communicant of St. James the Less RC Church in Jamesburg.
Emilio was preceded in death by his first wife, Eda Mecchi (1993) and his brother in law, Bruce Engel (2012).
He is survived by his second wife, Antoinette Mecchi of Monroe Twp., his son Joseph Mecchi and his wife Shana of Marlboro, his daughter Christina Mecchi of Matawan, two step-sons: Daniel Kous of Newton and Anatol Kous of East Brunswick, one sister, Diana Engel of Kew Gardens Hills, NY, six grandchildren: Luke and Zachary Andersen, Ethan Mecchi and Brandon, Alex and Christopher Kous and one niece and god-daughter, Lori Ann Haden of Scranton, PA.
Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Thursday October 1, 2015 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555 – www.demarcofuneralhome.com. Funeral services will begin at 9:15am on Friday October 2, 2015 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10:00am on Friday at St. James the Less RC Church – Jamesburg, NJ followed by entombment in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum – Woodbridge, NJ.
