Obituary of Daniel M. Gibson

Daniel M. Gibson died on Friday August 21, 2015 at his home in Monroe Twp. He was 84 years old. Mr. Gibson was born and raised in New York City. He lived in Astoria and College Point, Queens for many years before moving to Regency, Monroe Twp. in 2004. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a Deputy Administrator for the New York City Board of Education for 25 years before his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Men's Club and the Italian American Club of Regency. His hobby was building dollhouses and birdhouses and has donated them to charities over the years. He was a past communicant of St. Fidelis RC Church, Queens and a current parishioner of St. James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Diana (Sattanino) Gibson of Regency, Monroe Twp., three children, Kevin Gibson of Los Angeles, CA, Karen Finnerty and her husband William of Dover Plains, NY, and Daniel Gibson and his wife Caterina of Marlboro, one brother, Bernard Gibson and his wife Cathy of Houston, TX, five grandsons, William Finnerty, Daniel Gibson, Thomas Finnerty, Joseph Gibson, and Christopher Gibson, and many other extended family members. Visitation is Tuesday August 25, 2015 from 4-8pm at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555, www.demarcofuneralhome.com. Funeral services will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday August 26, 2015 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10:30am at St. James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg, followed by Entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, Jamesburg.
