Obituary of Vera DeMarco

Vera (Zakaluk) DeMarco died peacefully on Friday August 7, 2015 at the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro two days after her 90th birthday. Born and raised in Manville, she was a 1943 National Honor Society graduate of Bound Brook High School. Vera then attended Newark City Hospital School of Nursing, graduated in 1946 and worked in the nursing field briefly before raising her family as a homemaker. She lived in Little Falls, South Orange, and Point Pleasant before moving to Monroe Twp. in 1984. A devout Christian, Vera was a member of Calvary Chapel Crossfields, Jamesburg. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking food for her family and friends. Above all else Vera loved her family and cherished the time spent with them.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Michael N. DeMarco in 2003, three sisters, Tekla Zakaluk, Mary Wolowina, and Helen Zakaluk, and three brothers, Robert Zakaluk, Fred Zakaluk, and William Zakaluk.
She is survived by her son, M. David DeMarco and his wife Paula of Monroe Twp., her daughter, Ruth DeMarco-Conti and her husband Dominic of Paramus, one sister, Anne Zakaluk of Hillsborough, one brother, David Zakaluk and his wife Lillian of Florida five grandchildren, Jennifer Burry, Thomas J. DeMarco and his wife Sonny, Angela Winther and her husband Peter, Dominique Conti, and Michael Conti, five great grandchildren, Andre, Layla, Mia, Landon, and Dylan, and many other extended family members.

A funeral service will be 10:30am on Monday August 10, 2015 at Calvary Chapel Crossfields 15 Half Acre Rd., Jamesburg followed by Interment in Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan.
