Obituary of Patricia A. Matera

Patricia A. (Perine) Matera died on Tuesday July 21, 2015 at the University Medical Center of Princeton @ Plainsboro. Born Patricia Perine in Staten Island, NY, she was a descendant of the early settlers of Staten Island. She moved to Monroe Township in 1970 and settled in Clearbrook in 2002. She was retired from the Monroe Twp. Board of Education. Patricia was a former board member of Raritan Valley ARC, an active member of Spectrum for Living in Middlesex, dealing with the developmentally disabled and a past volunteer at St. Peter's University Hospital.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband John Matera (2009), her sister Judith Gulliksen and her brothers Ernest Perine and Robert Perine.
She is survived by her sons: Dr. James Matera and his wife Stella of Monroe Twp. and Scott Matera of Edison, two grandchildren: Lauren Matera of Laurel Springs and John Matera and his fiancée Nicole Michaud of Monroe Twp., and her brother Wayne Perine and his wife Jacque of Staten Island.
Visitation will be 4-8pm on Friday July 24, 2015 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 9am on Saturday July 25, 2015 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am at Immaculate Conception RC Church - Spotswood followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum – South Brunswick.
