Mary (Dumansky) Compton, 89, died on Monday July 20, 2015 at her residence in Clearbrook, Monroe Twp. Mary was born in Scranton, PA and lived in Carteret until moving to Clearbrook, Monroe Twp. in 2001. She worked for Merck & Co. in Rahway for 45 years and retired as assistant to chief patent counsel in 1989. Mary was a member of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church and the Nativity of Our Lord Prayer shawl ministry as well as a Companion of Pauline von Mallinckrodt. She was also a member of the Clearbrook Catholic Society.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband William P. Compton (2005) and her nephew Stephen Kopil (1999).
She is survived by her sister Dorothy Kopil and her husband Edward of Monroe Twp., three nephews: Thomas and his wife Carol of Cherry Hill, Robert and his wife Julie of Suffern, NY and Edward and his wife Jeanne of East Sandwich, MA, eight great nieces & nephews: Mark, Katie, Genevieve, Christine, Matthew, Marie, Sarah and Stephanie and six great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5-8pm on Thursday July 23, 2015 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555 – www.demarcofuneralhome.com. Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Friday July 24, 2015 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church – Monroe Twp. followed by interment in St. Gertrude Cemetery – Colonia.
