Albert W. Sikorski died on Monday July 13, 2015 at his home in Jamesburg. He was 96 years old. Mr. Sikorski was born and raised in Jamesburg. He later lived in Monroe Twp. prior to moving back to Jamesburg. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post 127 in Jamesburg. In 1955, along with his late wife Jean, he established Better Living Department Store in Jamesburg and was working until he was 93 years old. He was an avid golfer, an international ballroom dancer, and loved family gatherings. He was a parishioner of St. James the Less RC Church in Jamesburg and was a member of their Knights of Columbus Council 6336. He was also a member of the Jamesburg Elks Lodge 2180. He was a generous man who always had a smile on his face.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jean H. (Heluk) Sikorski in 1988, his parents, Walter and Anna (Makies) Sikorski, and his sister, Loretta Bohinski.
He is survived by three sons, Kenneth A. Sikorski of Jamesburg, Thomas E. Sikorski and his wife Katherine Ann of Tinton Falls, and James M. Sikorski and his wife Lynn of Skillman, two daughters, Jeanne A. Douglass and her husband Dr. Arthur, Jr. of Sinking Spring, PA, and Alice Sikorski and her significant other Kevin Scialabba of Monroe Twp., his sister, Sr. Helen Sikorski, sgm of Lexington, MA, nine grandchildren, Donna Sikorski, Kenneth Sikorski and his wife Vicki, John Sikorski, Thomas Sikorski, Kristen Sikorski and her husband Joseph Samec, Ryan Sikorski, Matthew Sikorski, Arthur Douglass, III and his wife Eva, and Jeanne Douglass, seven great grandchildren, John, Connor, Ken, Austin, Travis, Maxwell, and Amelie, and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be 5-8pm on Wednesday July 15, 2015 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555 – www.demarcofuneralhome.com. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am on Thursday July 16, 2015 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 11:30am at St. James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg followed by Entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, Jamesburg.
