Louis Israel Segarra – 74 – New York, NY
Louis Israel Segarra, 74, died on May 28, 2015 at home in New York City. Louis was born and raised in Puerto Rico and brought to the US at the age of 15 for a better education. He attended the New York School for the Deaf at White Plains, NY where he reconnected with the love of his life, Norma. He then attended White Plains Community College where he received his vocational certificate. He worked with machinery at a printer company both in NY and NJ for 30 years. He was a very hard working man, supporting his family on a single income. Louis was an avid New York Yankees fan and liked collecting stamps. He was a very humble man.
Louis is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Norma, three sons: Anthony and his wife Sheila of Hackettstown, Joseph and his wife Adina Lao-Segarra of Lords Valley, PA and Craig of Bronx, NY, two sisters: Marilyn Cruz and her husband William of NJ and Heidi Diaz and her husband Louis of Lawrenceville and four grandchildren: Justin, Victoria, Ashley and Caitlin.
Visitation will be 9-11am on Saturday May 30, 2015 at St. James the Less RC Church – 36 Lincoln Avenue, Jamesburg, NJ 08831. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday followed by interment in Holy Cross Burial Park – South Brunswick. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the M.
