Obituary of Marie J. Funk

Marie J. Funk, 93, died on Saturday April 4, 2015 at Wynwood at Forsgate. Marie was born to Theresa and Ernest Bernard, Sr. Raised in Jersey City, NJ and resided in Edison for 35 years before moving to Rossmoor, Monroe Township in 1998. Since 2013 she has resided at Wynwood at Forsgate. Marie was a clerk for Airco Welding Products and took great pride in raising her family as a homemaker. Marie is preceded in death by her husband Frederick H. Funk, Sr. (2001) and her son Frederick H. Funk, Jr. (2015), sister Rita Place (2003) and brother Nicholas (2006). Marie is survived by her two sons: Robert Funk and his wife Donna of Garfield, NJ, James Funk and his wife Alice of Keene, NH, a daughter, Joan Baer and her husband Wilfried of Princeton Jct., NJ, a daughter in law, Gail Funk of Belford, NJ, a brother, Ernest Bernard, Jr., seven grandchildren: Kathryn Funk, Jason, Kevin, Erica Baer, Daniel, Nicole and William Funk and five great grandchildren Brendan, Logan, Jackson, Ryan and Ethan Baer. Visitation will be from 6-9pm on Thursday April 9, 2015 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 8:45 am on Friday April 10, 2015 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 9:30am on Friday at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church – 185 Applegarth Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 followed by interment in Holy Cross Burial Park – South Brunswick.
