Obituary of Raymond J. Fernandez, III

Raymond J. Fernandez, III died on December 24, 2014. He was 73 years old. Raymond was born in Jersey City and raised in Bayonne. He lived in East Brunswick for 22 years before moving to Monroe Twp. in 1992. He was a graduate of Villanova University (Class of 1962). Upon graduating he started a 44 year career as a trucking executive working with Sealand, Jevic Transportation and finally with New Century Transportation in Southampton for 20 years until his retirement in 2006. He was an avid golfer and member of Forsgate Country Club since 1992. He loved all sports, especially the Villanova and Rutgers University teams and enjoyed vacationing in the Outer Banks, NC with his family for 19 years. Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Catherine (Black) Fernandez of Monroe Twp., one son Raymond J. Fernandez, IV and his wife Sara of Monroe Twp., one daughter Kathleen Reavy and her husband Tom of Newtown, PA, one sister Alexis Snell of Monmouth Beach and two grandchildren Rachel and Alex Fernandez. Visitation will be from 2-5pm on Sunday December 28, 2014 and 10-11am on Monday December 29, 2014 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. A funeral service will be at 11am on Monday December 29, 2014 at the funeral home. Cremation is private.
