Obituary of Romeo M. Gambassi

Romeo M. Gambassi died peacefully in his sleep on December 15, 2014 at his home in Monroe Township next to his loving wife of 63 years. He was 86 years old. Romeo was born in San Vittere del Lazio, Italy and raised in Brooklyn. He lived in Staten Island for 37 years before moving to the Regency, Monroe Twp. in 2013. He served in the US Navy Reserves. He was employed as a maintenance supervisor for the NYC Housing Authority until his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed fishing and playing pinochle and bocce and most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a former parishioner of St. Joseph St. Thomas RC Church in Staten Island. Romeo was preceded in death by his brother Angelo Gambassi. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Antoinette (Russo) Gambassi of Monroe Twp., his daughters Annette Langer and her husband Jeffrey of Holmdel, Marilyn Agnetti and her fiancée Steven Gilbert of Monroe Twp., one son Ronald Gambassi and his wife Sarah of Boise, ID, five sisters, Mary Ann, Ida, Rose, Yolanda, and Mary, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many other extended family members.
